Pete McBean, Chief Technical Officer
Pete McBean is responsible for setting technical direction and promoting Velaris' unique technical approach to the Business Intelligence marketplace. In this role, he delivers best practices in system architecture, implementation methodology, and technology evaluation and selection. In addition, he often serves as Chief Architect on largeData Warehousing consulting projects.
McBean has been with Velaris and its predecessor businesses (DoubleStar, IEA Business Solutions and DuPont IEA) for more than 20 years and is considered a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence thought leader. Under his leadership, Velaris (then DoubleStar or IEA Business Solutions) successfully rolled out large projects for The Home Depot, Capital One, Citibank, J&J (Centocor) and Uniqema.
As part of DuPont IEA, McBean was a pioneer in the development of the Rapid Iterative Production Prototyping (RIPP) methodology, a Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach that was leveraged in successful implementations at Navistar International, Target and DuPont.
McBean is a member of the Data Warehousing Institute. He earned his BS in Computer Science at the University of Virginia.
