Using Query Studio for Ad hoc Reporting
This course introduces the non-technical report user to Cognos' ad-hoc reporting tool. Topics covered include: connecting to data models, creating list and cross-tab reports, sorting and filtering, and creating charts. Students will also learn to promote reports to public folders and schedule reports to run automatically.
Introduction to Report Studio
This first course for the technical report developer, will introduce students to the creation of lists, crosstabs and chart reports. Topics covered include: selecting, filtering and sorting data, displaying combinations of textual and graphical data, master-detail reports and drill-through to subsidiary reports. Many types of user input will be covered including drop-down and selection lists, radio buttons, check boxes, command buttons and text input. Students will also learn to format reports for both screen display and printing, and to publish reports for public use.
Developing Reporting Systems Using Report Studio
This is the second course in the Report Studio series and discusses advanced dashboarding, working with data models, creating systems of reports linked by drill-down and drill-through functionality and report scheduling. Students will also explore approaches to both data and report security in large installations.
Using Analysis Studio
This course introduces ReportNet's OLAP studio. Students will learn to define dimensions and facts, create alternate dimensional drill paths, build cubes, and explore the resulting OLAP landscape. Creating Analysis Studio reports will be explored, as will publishing Analysis Studio reports for end users.
Data Stewardship Using ReportNet
This course is designed for the Data Steward function and focuses on how to use Framework Manager to create metadata for ReportNet reporting. Students will learn how to use Framework Manager to apply business names to data items, rearrange data by subject matter, define joins for multiple-table databases, and use layers of metadata to organize the data model for multiple types of usage.
ReportNet Administration
This course introduces the ReportNet administrator to configuring folders within the ReportNet environment, setting up user groups and roles, applying folder and report security to groups of users, and scheduling execution of recurring reports so as to maximize the efficient use of ReportNet resources.
